It was too hot to sit inside on the ferry..

...so i hung out the window!

Sa wat dee,

It only took one hour from ko phi phi to ko lanta although this short journey was ridiculously hot, people on the ferry looked like they had been in a shower! When we arrived we headed for a resort called lanta riviera as we had got given a leaflet on the ferry and it looked ok and reasonable. We checked in to a huge, but quite room for 800 baht which is about 6 pound each. Everything seemed fine until the evening. The toilet stank like nothing we have ever smelt and the bugs seemed to crawl out of every crevis including our bed. It was horrible, bugs we've never even seen before crawling over our pillows and between the sheets. Han was on constant bugwatch through the night using the light on her phone.

The following day we moved further down the beach and found a place called 'Darawadee'. It looked really clean and tidy and had a pool as well. We managed to get a good deal as we were staying for 3 nights and because well... If you don't ask, you dont get. The beach here is quite stony and the sand is

grainy not soft, which is abit rubbish. The water is although clear, you cant really swim in it, unless its high tide as there is a reef as soon as you step in. The layout is similar to ko phangan, where everything is situated along the beach. It is more relaxed than phi phi, with fewer tourists but we didn't think as good. The first day we just relaxed by the pool as it was so hot and got booked up on a thai cookery class - and yes both of us booked up!! That evening we just sat in front of the t.v and watched a film as we didn't have much chance to do that anywhere else.

The next day was thai cookery class day and fortunately the weather was really overcast meaning it would hopefully be easier to cook in. The school was just a 2 minute walk away, which was ideal. We all had to decide in a group what we wanted to cook, out of a list of 10 possible dishes (We had 13 in the group). We kind of just raised hands to what we wanted to do and the majority won, it

felt like we were back at school again! We decided on; Massaman curry, a red curry, phad thai, chicken with hot basil leaves and a coconut milk soup. We all had to wear aprons and chefs hats, everyone looked so funny! We started by filling out our recipe booklets and prepared the veg and spices for each dish. After that, thats when we started cooking each dish. After each dish we got to eat it as well, it was like the best day out for rob, 5 dishes in 3 hours - Get in!! First we cooked the soup, which was really good, and as we both didn't want to do soup, it was a bonus! Mine was better than Han's and i had to add this (And im not making it up either!). Without being bigheaded most of mine turned out better than Hans, i think deep down she is devastated! Haha! But on the other hand she now says there's no reason why i cant do more in the kitchen, so i don't know what im going to do there. The massaman curry was probably the highlight for us both, so Han says she wants to try it

London is a long way away..

...well at least we know which way home is if we wanted to walk.

for everyone back home. We both throughly enjoyed the day and i was surprised how much i actually enjoyed it - so full by the end of it though!!

As we entered the last day in ko lanta and the last day in Thailand before we enter Malaysia, it rained pretty much all day, which wasn't great, but we caught up on the net and watched abit of TV as our room was comfortable enough to chillax in! We got an earlyish night ready for our long trip the next day to Penang in Malaysia. It was due to take 12 hours and we had to be up at 6am! Great!
