The Arch
So after the breathtaking scenery of yesterday we studied the book good and hard and decided what we wanted to see today. We had nearly gone the length and decided that we would see a few more bits and then head back cross country to Melbourne. Back on the road and the first stop was the 'Arch' a feat of nature where the sea has carved out a hole in the rock that you can see through.... it was amazing and the colours of the rock really helped its beauty - but the flies..... oh my God the flies...... you can not imagine them unless you have been to a country where they have them to this degree.... Woody was windmilling (see Melbourne sightseeing blog forunderstanding) for England and it really did make the whole 'ohhhhh isn't it amazing experience' harder to get romantic about!!!! So after a quick look we were on to the next.... this is called' London Bridge' not sure why but is another formation where the sea has carved two holes out of the rock face - however in 1990 it broke and some tourists got stuck in the middle of the sea on the still standing

rock so it is now one arch - again flies, flies, flies...... just outside the car I swallowed one which I am sure is laying eggs in my stomach as we speak - it was disgusting and I vowed not to get out of the car again..... but as you can imagine the next place was even better so I was out - snap happy swatting/windmilling all the way!!!!!!!!
Not one to go on too much as we can all have too much talk of scenery and rocks..... we headed back across country.... again the scenery completely changed and there was just fields and field of open farming land. We stopped at a lovely town called Colac for a bite to eat - as you say Erin and Em Australia is famous for their pies and we had a meat one each - I was sure that this was going to feed the fly in my stomach but I forced it down anyway!!!! It was absolutely delicious and beat BArrows pie and peas hands down... after waving good by to the flies - sorry I mean Colac - we were on our way - made stops off at various other

Pie!!!!!!!!!
places but to be honest more of the same!!!!!
Right at the end of the drive home we decided to detour to the beach again and had a last look of Australian coast line..... oh yes and an ice cream. drove back to Melbourne on what seem to be the longest Airport run EVER!!!!!!!! Took the car back and then checked in to the Holiday Inn - where I am now writing this blessed blog!!!!! Absolutely knackered but having a great time and loving every minute!!!!!
Can I say to everyone at this point - thank you for all your comments - we can see them all - and Em I am glad the sense of humour is still there even though there are days to go!!!! We are off to Ullaru tomorrow at 7.30am - and will be off line for a couple of days so think of us in the 40 degree heat with the flies........
