How time flies eh?

In just one month from tomorrow we will be setting off, and as a result it is finally starting to feel as if it is really happening. It is no longer in the distant future, but actually right on our doorstep, which is exciting, if a little daunting.

Tonights post is another technical experiment. I am posting using the wireless bluetooth keyboard I purchased for my phone. It's an amazing bit of kit, and with my phone folded into its widescreen position, allows me to have all the convenience of a laptop in something the size of my palm. I have uploaded some pics of the keyboard, and so far would definately recommend it to fellow travellers. Obviously at the moment, the closest it has got to field testing is writing this from my bathroom - but hey, so far so good.

Its pretty cool that apart from a WIFI connection, in technological terms I am now completely self sufficient!

After a little chopping and changing, I have now got my backpack, a Berhaus Jelan 60 + 15. It was purchased from wildtrak.com who were very understanding to my indecisiveness, and handled a

return very well. Their prices are about as good as I have seen as well so I definately recommend them.

Christmas saw a few other essentials roll in, such as a mosquito net and sleeping bag liner. Both of which I am currently practicing getting back in their little sacks, I can get them out, but just can't roll them up small enough to pack up again!

I have settled on mycherrymobile.com as the provider I will use for phone calls etc. They give a UK mob number so people can ring me cheaply, and it is free for me to receive texts and calls pretty much everywhere on the trip.

Got my last injection on the 24th - Yellow Fever, costing £50. But that cost looks like it might be offset by the fact we may be getting some malerone at a special price.

The final few things I need to do this month include sending my passport to the Thai embassy in Birmingham for a visa (I got my Oz visa online last night - all done over the net on my phone). I am also unsure as to whether it is worth paying

for a replacement driving license before I leave, as I have lost it.

So about 4 more weeks of work to go, trust me I am counting the days! My day job still think I am there long term, ha! Will have fun telling them my plans the day I quit.

So until my next post, which we probably be just before departure, adios!
