After much anticipation, the gingerbread house is completed. Okay, so it is not a two story feat of culinary architecture or anything, but it's pretty cool. I've posted pictures of it.
Duane's been doing more casual work, even worked in a bakery factory the other day. This involved putting bread pans onto a conveyor belt and taking empty pans off. He may have been offered free bread, but he couldn't quite decipher the man's accent. This can be tricky sometimes. Charlotte signed up for some casual work as well. It looks like we will head to another city for better work prospects.
Last night we checked out a fantastic beach about 10 min. drive from our place. This is where you can spot penguins. We spotted some sheep, a seal on the beach and some yellow-eyed penguins up on the hill. They are quite noisy! We hid in the bushes, but we didn't see any waddle up the beach, unfortunately.
Otherwise, we are looking forward to our New Zealand Christmas. Our friends Kirby and Christina from Regina are now in NZ, making their way South to join us for Christmas. We can't wait to see them!
