Sydney has a tower as famous as the bridge and the opera house, and today we thought we'd go up to the observation deck. The day began wet, so we didn't rush into town, and I very nearly took boots and raincoat. But was I glad I didn't - it turned into a very hot day, and no thunder in the evening either. The views of the city were splendid, but you couldn't see the blue mountains; however, I know where they were as they were covered in cloud! At the top of the tower was an elderly gent who would cut your silhouette for $10 if you sat a moment - a bargain since a photo was $35!!! Alex and he chatted for ages, and we ended up with 2 signed silhouettes. He drew nothing, just cut from black paper. He said he'd worked in Disney animations, but enjoyed silhouettes more.
After that we had a whirl on the monorail (bit like the docklands railway in London) and ended up at the Chinese gardens where Alex dressed as an Emperor and went all imperial. It was really cool and calm in there, but we had to get home, as Jenny(Kerry

Hiya cous!
Well, it is official. You two have seen more of Sydney than I have! I am really enjoying looking at your pics and reading your comments. What a fabulous idea! I can't wait to go traveling and do the same. It is so nice to be able to see what you have been up to. Such a shame we won't see each other again before you go. Take care and Happy Travels to you! The Emperor
Hi Carrie and Alex, Alex you look very smart in the Emperor outfit. Do you hire them at the Chinese Gardens??? It was good that you could both meet Jenni and Jeff. It sounds as though you had a fab. day. Did you hear on the news about the poor French tourist who was struck by lightening on Terrigal Beach! We certainly have had some nasty storms lately.

emperor
yes, for a small fee, you can be dressed up as a princess or an emperor. It makes taking photos more fun, and we have a large number of them to prove it!!
