Edit Blog Post
So, havent blogged for a while. I have to be honest and say that it's pretty much the same. We have had lots of great parties, lots of cool chilled out evenings at coco bar on the beach, amazing hot weather and sunshine and some great experience and work at the clinic. I have become very fond of the staff there, i love the thai vets Por and Phong, and Avril - our manager is a lovely woman. We have no volunteer vets still at the mo so its just us! i am also very very attached to our 4 vet dogs, our 3 legged chappies who run and kiss and greet you every morning - they are the best dogs ever and i proper love em.
We havent seen so much of Ty and Nathan, Nathan leaves in a few days altho thinks he is coming back in a month to live here. Ty is still here and i think we'll see more of him once nathan and his strops have gone. We kind of fell out, but thats a whole nother story. Ty has had a great new tattoo and I did too at the same time and
place - Oops - i did it again. photos attached! its a thai style tat with their patterns, and im very happy with it. It took 2 and a quarter hours and was pretty painful, but the tattooist was very fit and his assistant too and they do insist on walking around with no tops on! it was a distraction at least! the thais are actually very fit - they have no fat on them and all rippling muscles without being over blown body builder type muscles. blooming heck - didnt expect that. Sheen had her nose pierced too at the same place, and we have made friends with one or two of the thais at the tattoo place.
We have however, new playmates at Coco gardens, there is a good canadian guy Curtis who sheena and i have actually kipped over in his bungalow when we were too drunk to drive home! poor curtis was in the middle and i think he might have got a bit squashed between me and sheena, i have actually taken advantage of his kind nature and crashed there 3 times - its better than driving drunk hey. a lot of people do
it here but i have gotten a bit fast driving on the bike so i dont trust myself after a drink. sheen also crashed in our french mate - Antoin's bungalow last night haha, but no funny business for those with dirty minds!!!
So, we went to a big jungle party - Half Moon Party - last night, it was a bloody good one! really busy, we had sang som buckets as usual, and pre drinks at coco bar, we gave Antoin and Jeff a lift up on our bikes and the rest of coco staff came too which was great. it goes on all night, and i actually went back with the tattoo thai guys and woke up in the tattoo shop this morning!!! its all so random and funny here. i had a challenge to get as many pics kissing the boys staying at coco so pics attached but they are all staged - really!
met a great guy called Jeff, american - from yellowstone park, his job is rafting and massage - cool job! he's a really nice bloke and me and sheena spent a couple of evenings with him, and we decided to go
trekking on my day off to Bottle beach on the north of the island. you can only get there by boat or a hard core trek through the jungle. you really need a guide but we set off and did it on our own. we got there in about 2 and a half hours and it was really hard going through the jungle. the trail is crap and marked with plastic bottles here and there, not really very clear, and lots of steep rock climbing up and down and slippery trail. i stupidly wore shorts and t shirt and my legs and arms are ripped to shreds, some of it going a bit manky actually so i have to clean it up. i have bruises and all sorts, it was more like mountain climbing to be honest. i got a load of big red ants fall on me from a tree and the bastards were all biting me at once, about 20 of them, i was leaping about slapping myself and jeff had to help get them off me and out my hair. they really have a mean bite. the beach was deserted when we got there and very beautiful,
its the far north of the island, then when we set off to get home i found it quite hard as i was very tired, it was all steep climbs and steep drops so nothing easy and we hadnt eaten, so then we got bloody lost cus the trail just disappeared! we had to "blaze a trail" through the bloody jungle and wade through vegetation - this is NOT a good idea due to the scorpions, cobras, poisonous centipedes and various other critters. was a bit scary, we got good and lost and just hiked the direction we thought, we had 20 minutes till sunset and i was scared cus i thought we were gonna have to spend the night in the damn jungle in the pitch black, but by some lucky luck we found the trail again and made it back just as the sun went down. i was exhausted and scratched and bruised but bloody enjoyed it. just my thing - it was the best day off ive had so far! so then jeff stayed at our house last night cus he left this morning and we are not far from the pier. however, i ended up waking
up at the tattoo shop (think we left around 6am or something) and sheena ended up crashing with antoine at coco so poor jeff stayed there on his own! he rang me at 11 and i managed to drag myself up and fly up to the pier on my bike to say goodbye, about 10 mins before his ferry sailed! was glad to say goodbye as he is a great guy and we had a big adventure!!!
we are moving house again, we have found a really cheap one - 3 grand (baats) a month instead of 8 each so its a massive saving! we move on 15 december.
we have a full moon party at xmas eve, then me and sheena are going to do some food at our place for our PAC staff, and then coco are having a pig roast in the evening, but limited number of tickets, they've offered us so we have to buy them quick but havent got round to it yet!
so here are some random pics from sheenas camera as i still dont have one!
