Boarding the train in Tupiza
last but one stop in Bolivia So after I got my card, went for a celebratory meal and met a load of English guys so arranged to go on the train with them the next morning to Villazon (border town).
Got the train at 9am with all kinds of documents in my hand bag in preparation for the border. Got there and gave them a copy of the police report, they stamped it and that was it?!
Then to the Argentinian side and they just stamped my passport! Far too easy, in Argentina!
Then went to the bus station and got a bus to Salta! 8hrs later arrived checked into a hostel and went out for a steak, at 1.30am! Was alright but nothing too exciting!
The couple I was with left to Iguazu the next morning so spent the next couple of days wandering round Salta with Judy, reading and updating the journal in the park, eating ice cream, drinking coffee and going out for amazing steak (huge)!
Thought it was about time I had a chill out after all the goings on! Beautiful place to do it! Very strange being here though after being in Peru and Bolivia, so developed,
Argentina!
Just crossed the border! everything is really easy, more like travelling round Europe. Didn't really like it at first but you soon settle in.
Much more expensive for certain things but eating out, steak and wine are so cheap!
Getting on a bus to Iguaza tomorrow at 11.30am, only a 26hr bus journey! Decided to do the north instead as its gonna take ages and cost an arm an a leg to get all the way to the bottom!
