Today i am a little sun-burned around my nose and eyes. The weather is very very good. A short wait outside Te Papa (NZ's best museum) for Emma eventually involved me sitting outide for 4 hours. Hence some burning.
So i've been in Wellington over the weekend for Sophie's bday and it's been very pleasant and i haven't had to pay for a hostel because Danieele has been kind enough to let me stay at her's. I have purchased myself a staff and have been whiling away the hours throwing it around my body and arms. However, my debit card expired at the end of novemeber, so i'm gonna have to go into town now and deal with that before i leave for the south island in a few hours.
In other news i had food poisoning for 5 days in the end, the girls blame the rat infestation of the kitchen at the last place i was staying at; i blame...i don't know, life. Problem was i felt weak and tired every night, so i ate in order to feel better which perpetuated the food poisoning much longer than it had to be. Oh well, we live and learn.
I passed through Thames on my way south to Wellington, and by coincidence, fluke and general wierdness ran into a friend of Miriam's i had known and hung out with in Reading! Strange. I'm 7000 miles away and there was John sat in the TV room of a hostel in Thames. There are 6.5 billion people in the world!!
After that i hitched south, got a lift with a man who, if i had no-where else to go, insisted i spend xmas with him and a man delivering bull's semen in liquid nitrogen (among others).
I stayed at Alex's on thursday night which was good. It was strange it felt like i was coming home, and i was sad to have to leave so soon. Alex is an excellent host and his house is beautiful, large and 1000x more comfortable than 99%!o(MISSING)f the places i've been staying
I'm now going to golden bay, which i've wanted to go to since i was in Wellington last time. I'm staying with another community (hopefully sans the rats) wwoofing as a builder, which should be really interesting and teach me some new skills.
That's all i've got right now, i could rabbit on about the details for hours but do you care? Do you want more details? Has the novelty worn off and no-one is reading this any longer? Answers on a post-card
