It's the final day so we had a cheeky lie in this morning but could barely get out of bed as our legs were aching so much from all the walking!! Headed to the Sultan Mosque on Arab Street first thing to have a look around. The outside of the building is really impressive but inside it was very simplistic. Despite the fact it we dressed in long trousers and long tops we had to put robes on, me and Lou decided our boobs were to blame! ha ha! Islams have to pray 5 times a day! woweee. We had a look at the shops which was full of colours and gorgeous material then headed back to the hostel to change into something cooler!
Got some fresh fruit juice from the market for brekkie, I will miss that it is sooo nice! And made our way to Little India, En route we got side tracked by some celebrations outside a chinese temple - Kwm Im Tony Haad Cho temple and a buddha temple - Sri Krishan Temple. People were buying incense sticks from stalls outside and flowers and going into the temple with them. Didn't want to hover too long
in case we offended anyone and their religion but it was so busy with lots of activity! Carried onto Little India and went to Little India Arcade which was lots of stalls with jewellery, fabric, bags and all full of clour, it all looked great. We went for a look around and down the side streets to soak up the atmosphere and there was colour everywhere! We went to the Tekka Centre which is the Indian hawker centre for a curry lunch with loads of stalls again and it's absolutley rammed - spicy hot chicken birujani was delicious and we tried Teh Talik which Shemi from Wow Singapore had reccommended to us. It's like a sweet milky tea which was lovely. Interesting combination in the heat but hey ho!
After lunch we headed for the MRT to go to the Chinese Gardens on the West of the Islands. Wasn't really sure what to expect and thought it may be a bit boring but it was very tranquil and peacful. The air away from the hustle and bustle of main Singa was loads fresher and it wasn't as humid. We walked around and climbed the Japanese 7 story pagoda -
haji lane
narrowest Street in Singa well worth it for the view and the breeze! Went in the Bonzi garden which Bonzi (travelling campanion!! see photo ) appreciated! There were some random birds in the trees which we couldn't see but there whistle was so high pitched we thought they were going to pop!!
We then grabbed the MRT to go and see Raffles Landing point as we had missed it by about 50m the night before - no idea but we were without a map that night! So got some pics and headed back to get ready for our Night Safari at Singapore zoo and to be eaten by the lions - wooooooo!!!!
Jumped on the MRT to Ang Mo Kio and found a tout selling tickets for the night Safari (or rather he found us!), got our tickets and a free bus to the zoo which is quite a way out from the city so no con involved all was well, it was the same rpice as at the zoo but we got a free bus there! we like a good freebie We got the tram round the zoo with the guide and got to see some amazing animals by moonlight..elephants..tigers..hyenas..rhino's..wolves..pigs...it was
all very natural and no cages which is what I like so it was brilliant to see. Some were sleeping but some were up and about eating and catching prey. One of the Malayan Tapirs the baby one was in the way of the tram as he was munching away! not afraid at all! Apparently they have very projectile pee so we were told to keep back! ha ha! thankfully it wasn't on my side!! And did you know...A giraffe only sleeps for 20 minutes a day...and that of you shaved a tiger's fur off it would still have it's stripes on it's skin...cool eh - see I do pay attention sometimes!!
We did some of the walking trail to get a bit more up close and personal to the tigers and lions he he and then went to ther Creatures of the Night Show. This was really good, it was animal performance but not in a tacky circus kind of way! They had a ferret recycling rubbish and putting it in the correct bins and there was a snake called Megan which they had put in a box before the show started which was underneath where people's feet
were! She was about 12 ft long! massive! So all in all fabulous!! We nearly missed the last MRT back though but made it in the end! Just!
But our night did not end there as we couldn't go to Singa and not go for a Singapore sling in Raffles Hotel!! So we headed to Raffles and had a sling at a nice cost of 47$ for 2!! eekk!! they have monkey nuts on the tables and everybody throws the shells on the floor. Lou asked why this was and the lady told us it wasn't a tradition it was just a concept! aaahhh so that clears that up then ??? Any takers - Dad?? Can you explain??!! Post a note!!

Hiya girls
Sounds like you are both having a great time. But did you not go to Tiger Balm Gardens? Oh and did you buy any tiger balm ointment? It cures everything apparently? I can't believe you have been/going on the TV, what next X Factor? Weather in Manchester is raining as usual. We are hoping to get our Christmas tree tomorrow, you know how much we love Christmas in our house. Stay safe. Lots of love.x
