Yo ho ho. Life doesn't get much better than cruising the Maldives. Did little else but swim, snorkel, eat and laze about. What's more - no honeymooners!

The first night was the captain's 30th birthday which we celebrated in grand style with chocolate cake and Gin & Tonic's.

Each mid-morning and mid-afternoon we travelled to a different snorkelling spot. There was a huge variety of marine-life; just like being in an aquarium. Almost as good as the Barrier Reef (I had to say that).

I'll just post a few pikkies so you can all get the gist. No underwater shots unfortunately.

Vashugiri
We stayed here to swim and snorkel for most of the day, had a beach BBQ dinner, and moored overnight. The island is only occupied by 2 guys who live here for 10-11 months with no electricity.

Fulidhoo
Kids looking for little fish among the rock pools. That night the villagers put on a percussion and dancing show (men only in attendance), with our group as the main dance act!

Rainbow
We had great weather except for one rainy afternoon (hence the rainbow). Beautiful sunny days averaging 28-30 degrees.

Snorkelling
At Tholhimaraahuraa. Along with the many fish, we also saw moray eels and a sea turtle with a missing front fin.

Low Tide
The captain didn't have a name for this lagoon where we moored on the 4th night, so myself and 2 other girls christened it "Geslesani Veli" after the 3 of us (Gesine, Leslie, Annie)

Male Fish Market
On the last afternoon we took a trip into the capital Male. Not exactly the most exciting city in the world. Most activity centred around the docks and fish market.

Stairway to Heaven
We had a glorious Full Moon on the last night.
