Steam boat on the Tennessee
Looking out on the Tennessee river. This is my page about
KnoxvilleI lived in Knoxville for about two years. I moved there because I was offered a job at the University of Tennessee which is a flagship University, the largest in the state. Knoxville is a wonderful city situated on an international waterway. It is located just outside Great Smoky Mountains National Park and is home to the University of Tennessee Volunteer football and basketball teams.
There is lots to do in Knoxville. First and foremost, the seasons are incredible and it is a very tempered area, which means that it is never too cold in the winter and the summer, although hot, is very tolerable. The spring brings blooming at the beginning of March, just in time for the famous
Dog Wood Festivalwhich happens in April. I live in one of the featured Dog Wood trails. It is beautiful! In Knoxville you are only a few miles away from the Great Smoky mountains and wonderful hiking/skiing trails.
Other than the obvious nature around, Knoxville has an ever growing cultural community. Besides the Operas, recitals and shows continually going on at the University, Knoxville has a professional
Opera Company, Art museums, Theater Companies, and much more.
I hope
Sit by the Tennessee River! :-)
One of my favorite things to do is to sit by the Tennessee River looking out at the water. It is actually a very lovely view. I drive by it every morning. In the evening you can sometimes watch the UT rowing team practice on the River. There is a really nice walk way and places to sit and be romantic. Beautiful place to hang out. that this page shows a little of what Knoxville has to offer. I have had a good time here and have enjoyed a cultural difference, since I am a Canadian girl. I only wish that I had more time to enjoy the surroundings, but work comes first, I guess...a typical North-American way of thinking, unfortunately.
Enjoy my Knoxville page! :-)
