First and foremost, I am absolutely loving life in Australia and it is the most amazing experience I could ever fathom. But there's no replacing the void left by American sports.

Today I watched a Youtube video of Jonathon Papelbon dancing with the Dropkick Murphy's on a float to celebrate the World Series sweep --- I am so sad we missed out. Check out this link and you'll understand what I mean:

We were able to watch most of the games, but couldn't really drink because we had to work in the afternoon.
Definitely jealous of all the Bostonians who got to experience it first hand (and perhaps a bit bitter). It's not the same to run down the beach waving a red flag - people might think it means sharks in the water or something.

We've been keeping tabs on the NFL and can usually catch Monday morning/Sunday Night Football EST - crazy to see all the hoodies and hats while we're wearing swimsuits and thongs on our feet (hehe- they're really flipflops but the Aussies have their own lingo). Oh tragedy- we won't be able to see the Superbowl commercials- they'll superimpose Aussie commercials 😞

I hear the Celtics are making the headlines as well (ok, so I'm indifferent on basketball, but it's a reason to drink and cheer!). It's harder to follow college football because we're working/sleeping on Saturday night when the games are on, but our first Saturday back in the states will be spent on the couch with a beer in one hand and nachos in the other.

We're still not into Australian sports - luckily SportsCenter gives us a quick fix, then it's off to the beach. Oh, counting down the days to the stools at the Cask.....

Quick side note to 2N- I almost had to open my "homesick card" because of this disparity... yes, Jonathon Papelbon in a kilt playing the broom has made me homesick.
