I forgot to mention about Tallinn - on the way back, it took us three hours to cross the border (Russians vs. Estonians, round 843). During the wait, the bus (or most of it) sang the entirety of Bohemian Rhapsody a cappella. It was fantastic.
This morning was the first morning where it was legitimately dark when I left my apartment. It’s been dusky and dark, but today it was really night black. Ironically, I think the music on my ipod seems to know this and I got a lot of songs that seemed fitting. Regardless, I’m getting more used to the night. This is the time of year when the amount of light in St. Pete just plummets. By the time December rolls around, we’ll be getting about 5 hours of light, and I’m going to be used to the night, whether I like it or not. Thankfully though, that’s only the worst time, and I’m leaving for a little while then.
On the upside, next week we head out to Mosckva and then I'm off to the warm wonders of Sochi. Wait for pictures of beaches and mountains and the Caucuses and wonders that you schlubs in Michigan can only dream of. Don't worry I still love you.. Anyway, I'm off to buy plane tickets.

Parties
on the Russians-don't-like-any-politicians note, my politics teacher told us that they did a survey where they made a party called "agree with none" and added it to a list of real parties and it got like 40% of the vote in the survey. isn't that ridiculous?
