Looking down one of the may canals in Amsterdam
Well, this will be a very short entry seeing as our stay was only a few days. "Experiencing" Amsterdam was nothing short of an adventure. We spent a lot of time just walking down the freezing cold streets checking things out. After being in Asia we have become quite numb to things that would have ordinarily shocked us, but, it was still was bizarre to see beautiful, half-naked women beckoning us from red rooms in almost every building we walked by. Oh yes and going to a "coffee shop" was an interesting experience as well. It isn't everyday you see shops that advertise the types of mushrooms they sell and see people the age of your parents ripping bongloads next to you while sipping their morning java. Even some old ladies were toking it up and we couldn't help but laugh. Sorry...we weren't allowed to take pics on our window shopping expeditions or of the coffee shops for obvious reasons. It was a really weird place and to be honest, we were a little more paranoid about walking down some of these alleys at night, than the alleys in Indonesia or Thailand. All in all, it was just an odd mix

of culture and hedonism. The one major site we saw was the Anne Frank house. Most of you probably learned about her in school. For those who don't remember, this is the place where a young jewish girl hid in the attic along with 7 others from the Nazi's. We quickly learned that the city was a cool place to check out, but then move on. We are now in Berlin and it is such an amazing place. We will talk to you guys about it later on. We out.
