Lima
We visited the catacombs in the San Franciscan monastery in Lima. Lots and lots of bones. There are over 27,000 people buried underneath the church - for a price of course. Nice little business. They have a modern catacomb there for the current monks of the church.
We went for a ride in a taxi through Lima to do a confluence. Our taxi driver, Jose, was most accommodating even though he surely thought us gringos were a little loco. He followed Tim’s left and right directions from the GPS very well till we arrived in a street. He even posed with us for photos. Expect to have it uploaded in a few weeks - go to www.confluence.org and view one of the visits at 12°S 77°W.
We went to Miraflores again for dinner and bought a couple of paintings of the artists at the local markets. Miraflores is the upper class area of Lima and also has a department store, McDonalds, KFC etc etc. Very nice area and we enjoyed it.
Buenos Aires
8 hours watching planes leave without us. We got in at 4.00am after a long flight from Lima. Buenos Aires is wonderful. It
is a lot like Melbourne. It is a huge city (13million) with plenty shopping. Clothing (trendy stuff), shoes, accessories everything you could possibly want. It is all pretty cheap too, I am guessing about half the price of at home. It is busy here, lots of restaurants & cafes. We are staying at the loveliest youth hostel ever. Decorated in a very charming way. Chandeliers, mosaic tiles, walls painted with large artworks, an old style lift with the metal doors right in the middle of the hostel, decorative door knobs and charming little angles and cherubs everywhere. Our room is great. We have a huge double bed and the girls have their own room. Today we caught a local bus to Recoleta. We did a self-guided walking tour (from the lonely planet guide) and visited the famous Recoleta cemetery where we saw Evita's grave. The cemetery is amazing. Really something unique with mausoleums everywhere. We have seen a couple of professional dog walkers. These guys walk about 15 dogs and it’s amazing, they all walk along nicely, no growling or fights. We have seen obelisk in the main drag. We are hoping to go to Iguazu Falls tomorrow. Staff travel
is proving to be very difficult here as things are just so busy. All flights out of BA are overbooked for the next few days but we will go and sit at airport and see how we go. Chow for now. Suzanne, Tim, Sarah and Rachel

Year 6 CAMP
We are at school and very tired after returning from year 6 camp yesterday. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the activities. Just looking through your photos and diaries about your last 2 weeks it looks like you have had an awesome time. Good to see that someone has bought your musical tickets. Better go Jo
