Hassan II Blvd Fès
Every city seems to have at least one Hassan II and one Mohammed VI Blvd. As you can see all the scarves and kramas I bought in Cambodia are very useful here. I'm trying to be conscious about staying covered up when I'm out in public. journalist for the past 20yeras or so; (top row) Andrew our tech king who is filming everything - taking photos for everybody and managing our yahoogroup; Halil our driver; Moshay from LA; Doha who finds and works with host families; Big Amina who is in charge of YD with Abdelghani; Rich the guitar player; Moha the only married LCF; Catherine the awesome filmmaker from Rhode Island; Bart who lets me win at cards and is in my CBT group; Scott from Oklahoma who is left handed; Antoine from New Orleans; Brian from Montana who is in my CBT group.
It's quite a group. I just found out who is in my CBT group and all those details. We'll be in Sefrou - which is just south of Fès. Besides the five of us trainees and Little Amina we also get Sara - a real volunteer from California who knows linguistics and is an awesome teacher.
The host family that I will meet tomorrow and stay with off and on until the end of November has much more preparation than my AFS host family. I have nothing against AFS - on the contrary I love it. But Peace Corps takes a
Coucous
Friday is the day families usually have coucous and the whole family comes over for the big communal meal eaten out of one dish with the right hand. The hostel kitchen made us a couscous on Friday so we could practice eating with our hands. completely different approach to preparing host families for us. I almost feel spoiled. They really put a lot of work into it.
My family has two daughters - Essma who is 20 and Aisha who is 14. I'm so excited to meet them; they're going to be a lot of fun I think. I don't know how old the parents are; the father is Abdelhaq and is a 'businessman'; Malika is the full time mother and runs the house.
Sefrou might not have internet; so I have no idea whan my next blog will be. I can guarantee I'll have a lot more stories by then though. If you every have questions about Morocco; Peace Corps or what I'm up to remember you can leave me a message or comment on travelblog.
Salam.

I am so jealous of you right now! Not saying that D.C. is boring, but I want to be a travelling bohrmian right now; you know, just travelling around, learning languages and eating without utensils! I miss you bunches! Stay safe. ---H
