After doing some tiling work for Erica and Suraj I left Seattle on September 20 with half my head shaven. (My new shaver did not have the battery power I expected) I arrived in Fiji at 5am and luckily found someone who knew they were going so I followed her to Beachcomber Island. Pretty much college on an island. It took about 8 minutes to walk around the entire island. I spent way too much money and after three nights decided it was time to stop drinking. I got a boat pass that gave me unlimited boat rides throughout the islands for a week. I first went up to the northern island where i stayed at a place called Sunrise Lagoon (right near where they filmed The Blue Lagoon). I was planning on hiking over to the lagoon my second day there but it was raining. Although I dont think the water could have been more blue than where I was. This island was quite a change from Beachcomber. There was only about 15 people and we ate dinner at one big table followed by an intense game of bingo. The next place i stayed at was probably my favorite. It

was so quiet.. there was only 9 of us. At night the Fijians do a Bula Dance and then taught us so we could join them. The last island i stayed at was really nice also although I had a 8X8 room that resembled a prison cell. I woke up at 5 am the next morning to do a hike up to the top of a mountain to watch the sunrise with my trustee guide, Napote and his dog, Summit. Summit got a little too close to the edge of the cliff. I also went snorkeling in the coral reef and saw a shark that was quite large. Sorry no pics... I swear I actually saw one though. Overall, I just did a lot of sleeping/reading in hammocks in Fiji. It was a rough week. I also went snorkeling in the coral reef and saw a shark that was quite large. Sorry no pics... I swear I actually saw one though.
