Melbourne next stop and one of my favourite in Australia. With its old architecture it had more of a London feel than anywhere else yet. We stayed at urban central a large Backpackers in the center of town or near enough. We met some good people here which resulted in a good time. One evening we ventured out to st Kida (a beach town in Melbourne) On the nieghbours bus for the neigbours night (i know real travelling eh) The bus collected us around 7pm and we headed straight to the elephant and wheel barrow (along with a lad from Farnham and one from Windsor road in Aldershot believe it or not) this is where the ¨stars¨ would be later that night, upon entry and realising what sort of a night it ws going to be and that the bar was expensive we decided to take the cheap option of drinking wine, and stupidly ended up mixing a bottle of red and white between us before the ´stars´ had even shown. We were sat down for the quiz with a few Irish girls and came off worse than expected not sure if we got on the score borrad, after this it was time for the meet and greet which included Dr Karl Libby Dillan and some unknown. My mission was set to get a kiss from libby mission acomplished and a hand shake from the doc himself, all before the evenings excitement came to an end and i was asked to leave. While in the soap adventure mood, one of Garys pals from home took us to the street where its filmed and had a walk around there, it must have been xmas in the show and the people living in the houses have to have the decorations up when ever they are neede. Also while in Melbourne we managed to catch up with a lovely funny couple we had met in Vietnam this was a much needed break from hostel life on my part. And they were incredibly hospitable, great meals, good days out nice relaxed drinks in front of the fire bliss. The night before we were due to leave Sue and Geoffs place. We explained that we had not yet seen any kangaroos or coalas in the wild this inspired Geoff to get us up early in the morning and after a bacon sandwhich head a few miles up the road to a field where he new the roos woud be hanging out. He was right within the hour we were in a field full of them we even caught two having a puch up just as we showed up. We circled a few more fields and again there were kangoroos in all of them. From here we went on a nature trail walk where we got to see two wild coalas job done he thought until we boke it to him we wanted to see a huntsman spider, i had seen one briefly in sydey during work but didnt think anything of it worryingly, you guessed it Geoff new just the place funnily enough back at his place we made our way back and found one amongst the fire wood so we agitated that for a while, said our thank yous and good byes, geoff drove us back to the hostel left over roast dinner in hand, all in all a good trip and great to see the family again. The last night in Melbourne was spent with my friend i had again met in Vietnam and again lives in Melbourne, she took me to a pub which was right up my street loads of stupid hair dad, plenty of cheep beer and they played the smiths greatest hits from Stara to finísh. I just wish i had been earlier than the night i was leaving, the neaxt day i was heading back to Sydney on the overnight bus once again. I have kept in touch with a few people i met in Melbourne and Would definitely come back. Sory for mistakes in this but using spanish computers is proving quite the task they dont have English
