Hey All
Have finally arrived in Sydney and have a pc that really has broadband, not just pretending, like the one at the hotel in Bali.
And what can I say about Bali, it was awesome. Hotel, weather (30 all week), room, facilities, service, food, even the gym, was fantastic. We had a really chilled week in Bali, the main aim being to get over the jetlag before arriving in Sydney (and maybe get a bit of a tan (or sunburn in Laz's case!!))
We ventured out mid week in Bali, for a bit of fun and a bit of culture. 1st, white water rafting down the Ayung River. The water level was fairly low but there were a few rapids in places and our tour certainly knew how to hit them. We were sharing the raft with a Japanese couple, unfortunately the girl was a right wuss, and this made or guide want to throw us all about more, no complaints from me n Laz. Only one hair raising moment and we almost lost the Japanese girl, but Laz stretched to the rescue, a really good move for her, and just hilarious for us at the back. The scenery was
First meal in Bali
Just for you Nige, Nasi Goreng just amazing going down the river, as seen in the pics.
The walk back up to the restaurant for lunch was quite hard going, Laz coming close to his 1st, and hopefully only, coronary!
In the afternoon we headed off to see Monkey Forest and 2 temples, the 2nd being Tanah Lot, a famous sea temple. Again, I think the pictures will do it more justice than any words.
So then, the rest of the week was spent at the hotel and by the pool, soaking up the rays and before we knew it, we were heading back to the airport for our flight to Sydney. Arrived at the hostel in Sydney at 0930 (currently 9hrs ahead of UK) but have only been making plans for the next few days so nothing to report on that front yet.
Enjoy the pics, feel free to leave any messages/comments, and don't forget to log on the blog, that way you can get updates emailled to you, saves you having to check up on it.
