Friday was our house trip to New Lanark...I was fairly disappointed in it. Gerry (my Brit Civ professor, who is Scottish) took us on a short tour but there wasn't much to see. It was also very cheesily done; like some lame storybook adventureland for kids. The scenery was very beautiful though--waterfalls, a big river, lots of forest--so that was nice. Also, we got to see the loom that made Harry Potter's scarf! That's always exciting 😊

Other than that, I didn't do much this weekend. A lot of people went out clubbing one night, and I'm not into clubs so I didn't want to waste money (I'm glad I didn't go too, after the stories people told me). So it was a nice quiet night with the palace to me and a few others who stayed back...as much as I like everyone here, it's very hard to get any alone time.

That's about it...have a great week everyone!

Quiet...is nice
Hi Britt! I see your comments about this past weekend's activities, and it's good to have some downtime, since every weekend, at least (if not also the weekdays), can seem like an adventure, and could get very draining, without that time to rest and reflect. Since you're planning other trips, it's good to recharge the batteries before you launch into yet more adventures. There's bound to be something cheesy in every region you travel...it's probably not too bad for you to encounter something like this, after this much time, that finally rated your comments. Hope you avoid further cheese in your travels this fall...:) Peace, Jeff
