The Santis Mountain
you can see the other side of this mountain from where we´re staying at the bodensee, an hour and a half drive away. The best gifts are ones of no material, they are of surprise, they are from above, and they intend to make the heart filled with the riches that don´t fit inside a box with decorative wrapping papper. I experienced and discovered many riches as I found myself in the Switzerland Alps climbing up the side of a mountain and as my feet took me higher into this masterpeice the more my gift was unfolding.
It just so happened that the staff from the school were taking a trip together in the Alps to discuss the upcoming year, which coincidentally happened to be my birthday and invited Josh and I to come along, cost free. So around 40 us piled into vehicles and one and a half hours later our feet were standing on a different countries terriorty and good ol´ Alt St. Johann greeted us, the village that is. I couldn´t believe that my eyes were witnessing what my heart had been longing for the past three years, I had to leave these mountains that became my home and I had finally returned and my senses were once again refreshed. We took gondolas(no, not the boats that are in Italy) up
The Berggasthaus
the hut (chalet) where we stayed all day drinking in the joys of life into the mountain where our hut berggasthaus was awaiting our arrival offering many warm and cold beverages and warmth from the cool mountain air. One of the drinks being Rivella, a lemonade like drink that is made out of the whey from sheep cheese processing, Josh´s pick, and I was just drinking kafe all day like it was my birthday or somthing. After having a meeting about the upcoming year for school bodenseehof we ate a delectable middle day food that consisted of soup, salad, and lamb chops with apfelschorle to boot, mmmmmmm....
Afterwards the hike started with about 10 of us adventuring into the hinterrugg mountain and breathtaking views were all I could see for miles, unfortunatly we had to turn around an hour and a half after starting up this huge formation for another meeting and then dinner was to be served back at the hut but my thirst for the mountains has not been quenched just yet. Dinner consisted of a platter of different meats and assorted cheeses, one being butt cheese because it tasted and smelled just like a big butt.
The evening ended with several of us going out to the bahnhof, the train
I Like Mountains
I like them alot station for fischbach that is also a pub, I enjoyed a few birthday beers along with some great comoraderie and then off to bed. The next morning came and I found myself a year older than what I was and now life goes on with another year ready to be lived in this world that spins madly on. Only the One looking down onto this life daily could have known what the perfect birthday would be and He granted it and lavished my heart with life in Him and in His amazing creation that He formed with His hands so that I could enjoy it along with the others that experienced this gift.
