One of the lads at the hostel advised us to go for the 3 day pass on the metro - So we did, much cheaper.
Headed out with camera poised for action. We are not the best photographers in the world, but hey lets give it a go - Maybe we will get one or two good shots. (Please feel free to give us a star or two.....)
Couldn't find a decent map of the place so we decided to play follow the leader and hope for the best.
What greeted us was awesome. At every turn there was something new to be seen and in the distance other marvels, enticing you to walk that bit further to see the fuller picture. A bit sore on the old feet by the end of the day, after having walked miles on those cobbles!!!!!
No wonder people are in awe of this place. Pictures alone can not describe how beautiful it is. It's like stepping back in time and has to be seen to be believed (Well worth a look you guys)
Did I tell you the beer is cheap too (from 25p a bottle), didn't take us long to find that out.......
However there is a down side to all the cheap beer, we saw many of the local drunks sprawled out on park benches and greens. A bit of a blot on the landscape, but they don't seem to bother the tourists and the locals just step over them. Had noticed a few rooting through the bins, but later learned that they retrieve the refundable beer bottles we throw out.
