The best way to get round town...
Hey all!

Claire is having a long lie - so thought I'd log into this for the first time and see how it works. Claire also sat up late last night messing about with it - so she may well have posted stuff about us getting here too!

I'd seriously forgotten about just how much I love Bangkok - it really is just like nowhere else I've ever been on earth.

The people are just amazing and nothing is too much effort. The food tastes like how food should taste (I'm on my fourth glass of orange juice just now - it seriously tastes good! And the weather - its just perfect!

So we arrive in Asia about 18 hours after leaving Glasgow airport.

We get through customs and stuff (with 5 massive cases and two carry on bags!) and I hadn't even considered how we were going to get them all to the hotel. A taxi wasn't going to be big enough, so we had to get a van. The guy that organised the van for us ended up almost in tears as it was going to take 20 mins to arrive due to traffic.

These are fruity cocktails! - promise!!
So we settled with a merc car - with cases piled in the back. What a laugh trying to pack the car.

What I didn't realise was that a new airport had opened since I was last here - last time it was a 20min drive or so - this time it took over 2 hours to get to the hotel. We paid 1000 bhat for the taxi, which I think is about £15.50 - ripped off or what?!! Well, ok yea - but worth it watching 6 Thai blokes trying to puzzle out how to pack the car!

We were knackered - had dinner in the hotel (ask me what they had in the buffet and I'll say yes - like seriously everything!). I quickly found something which was so spicy that I couldn't get it near to my lips nevermind eat it!

We also decided to take a trip to the tailor (at 11.30pm) as I wanted a few new suites for Oz - I bought two suits and four shirts (made to measure of course!). This cost me 10,000 (so about £150) - which is fine (given the suits come with two pairs of trousers). Claire is thinking about doing the same when I pick them up this afternoon (yup, they are made over night!).

At the moment, I'm sitting on the 33rd floor of the hotel - will take a picture and e-mail it when I next load them on. I've attached a few pics from last night - haven't taken a lot yet, but loads of time...!!!

Ok - its now 11am and there is Singah to be drunk...!!!
