Sunset on kuta beach Sorry for the long break we havnt really had a chance since leaving bali to get onto some cheap internet. Bali was fantastic and really really, really, cheap, put it this way we could get a 3 course meal with drinks for 6 quid and were not talking maccies here.
When we landed in the airport we had to pay 25 us dollers to get into Indonisia and when we were leaving we had to pay another 25 to get out, cheeky or what! When we got through customs we headed for the nearest cash machine to withdraw some Bali ruppies. We put the card in the machine then all these zeros appeard and we didnt have a clue how much we needed as there money works out 18,200 to the 1 english pound (which we didnt know at the time) so you can imagine the looks on our face when the option to withdraw 5 million came up, we thought we had won the lottery without knowing. After sorting the money out we jumped a taxi to our hotel we had booked and was pleasently suprised as it only cost us a fiver each a night. We got breakfast

Neil outside our bungalow every morning, we had our own bungalow around the pool which was very clean and new.
Our hotel was right next door to the memorial for those who died in the Bali bombings as it happend just across the road from it which was a bit scary when we realised how close we were to where it happend but everything is back to normal there except the security is very strict and obviously there are less people that visit Bali because of what happend which is a real shame. The local people are so thankfull to you for visiting and they say this to you all the time. I was a bit wary at first about going into the nightclubs because of what happend but they search everyones bags that come into the club and you arnt allowed to park outside of any clubs. Most of the posh hotels have tracks at the entrance that cars have to pass over so they can put mirrors underneath them to check for any bombs. Seeing all that puts your mind at ease and im glad it didnt put us off visiting.
We were stayiing in Kuta which is the main

Sally outside the bungalow place in Bali as all the ngith clubs and bars are around that area and are chokka every night with mostly australians. Its the australians holiday destination and its really good for surfing so most of the shops were surf shops and the waves were absolutley huge. We couldnt really swim in the sea as the waves were so high but our pool was good enough for us so we stuck to that. After a few days by the pool we decicded to hire a car as it worked out 3 quid a day so we couldnt turn that down and thought we would tour the island in it. Well everything started out smoothly but the curse struck yet again and the bloody clutch went on it after about 15 mins of driving and after filling it up with 15 quids worth of petrol. The only good thing was that we wernt to far away from were we hired it so them men came and gave us a new car and transferred the petrol over for us, it could only happen to us. I will neve know how we never had a crash though as the roads are absolutely khaos

Sally in the indian and the people who ride around on the mopeds obviously dont give a dam about their lives because they would just shoot out in front of you left right and centre, sometimes with their whole family on the bike. If you can drive in Bali you can drive anywere, needless to say Neil did all the driving otherwise we deffo would have had a crash haha.
The day after we got the car we got talking to an Australian family by our pool and they said they were heading out to a beach at the south of the isalnd to watch a surf competition and we were welcome to come along. So we followed them up there in our car and we had a really good day. One of their kids took a shine to me (sally) and wheneva i went into the water she would grab her armbands and follow me straight in and then stand there with her arms out wanting me to pick her up, so id pick her up then everytime a wave would come she would scream at the top of her lungs and i swear to god i had a constant ringing noise

Us in paddys bar (the one that got bombed) in my ear for days. The beach was tiny but really nice but it was full of women trying to sell you things but you just have to learn to ignore them.
The women over here carry everything on their heads from food and plates, dive tanks and equipment to big rocks. We were driving passed a building site one day and seen women picking up big boulders and putting them on their heads to carry, madness.
We decicded to book a dive in Bali as weve been told that a ship wreck they have there is one of the best ship wrecks to dive in the world and they wernt wrong it was stunning. We seen a giant barracuda all different kinds of giant fish and the coral was gorgeous and better still it only cost us 15 quid a dive. It took 3 hours to get too from our hotel but it was well worth it and we had a really good day out. On the way back from the dive we seen this huge rice paddy field it had thousands of them in it all down the side of a hill it was lovely. We

Neil and the jeep we hired also seen a kite festivle just ending and there were cars passing by us that had kites the size of of cars starpped to their roofs. Theres a constant breeze in Bali so its the perfect weather for flying kites and you would see them absolutely everywere.
The two weeks passed by quite quickly in bali and on one of our last nights we decided to try the seafood. Our hotel organises a van to come and pick you up and take you to a seafood restaraunt right on the beach in a town 30 mins away for free so we decided to do this. They picked us up at half 5 so we could watch the sunset and eat our meal. It was fantastic we were right on the beach, the food was gorgeous and the sunset was amazing we both loved it and best of all it only cost us about 20 quid and with that we got a whole fish which they said was a king fish we got about 20 king size prawns all cooked in garlic and 2 coconuts and all kinds of salad, rice and soup, it was deffinately worth the money.
