Edit Blog Post

Doing this the other way round now, you get to see the pictures first instead of a big long essay on where we've been and what we've been up to! Stories will follow, but heading out for last few hours of Melbourne sightseeing and that's more important right now! As you may have noticed I've gone back and put on loads of other missing photos, only a couple more entries still to go (Thanks very much to Bettina for the unlimited computer access (as well as many other things including your wardrobe, home and fridge!). Unfortunately we lost a few entries when the Blog computer crashed so if anyone has saved our story about the trip South with our mums could you please let us know, I can't get it back. My mum has saved most of the others (hooray!) so I will get round to re-typing them soon. We have many more photos and will make sure you get to see them all when we get back. Hope you are all well! x

Warrnambool Beach

This is where the Southern Right whales come at this time each year to have their babies and there is a huge viewing platform above the beach. This year, the whales are 7 weeks late. Typical.

Glad it was just the 2 of us in this space wagon!

Didn't go in here (bit early!) but had to go and find it with a name like that!

London Bridge

The arch that connected the bridge to the mainland collapsed in 1990 leaving 2 tourists stranded for a few hours! Glad it wasn't us.

Thunder cave

A huge archway had collapsed here at the entrace to this cave which created a thundering roar whenever a wave came in. Sea was quite wild when we were there, but fortunately we didn't get washed away!

This was the other side of thunder cave - the tunnel went inland for about 200m. Due to the history of things falling down in this area we didn't hang around for too long!!!

This is where 'The LochArd' ran aground in 1873 leaving only 2 survivors.

Loch Ard Gorge

Where the 2 survivors of the shipwreck were washed ashore. There were loads of shipwrecks along this coast (Shipwreck Coast), but this one seems to have captured the imagination of the locals and tourists and there are a few muesuems and loads of info about it.

You can't see 12 from here, some are hiding and some have collapsed since the first count.

This is an exhibition space in the (deserted) Docklands where we went to see the Human Body exhibition. That's the one of the 'peeled' corpses. It was fascinating but could have been more informative and better organised (bloomin' teachers - want everything logical and colour coded!) Wouldn't advise a trip here after a large meal, we both left a little green!
