Up and away flying Edmonton-Vancouver-Osaka Japan-Bangkok-Chengdu China.

Unfortunately...a 42 hour trip with only 20 hours of them in the air...that's what you get for flying with Aeroplan eh? (routing was also partially my fault as I wanted to go via Bangkok).

Learnt how to play Sudoku under the watchful eyes of a Japanese high school teacher...he tutted away correcting all my nieve errors on even the most beginner level game. We flew very close alongside the beautiful and snow capped Mt. Fuji. I left the Osaka airport for a few hours to delve into Japanese nightlife along the beach where families and friends were gathering for BBQs. In Bangkok airport I refreshed myself with a Thai coffee, mango sticky rice and spicy pad thai.

Air Canada mislabelled my bags in Edmonton airport so my panniers went astray in Bangkok and didn't arrive in Chengdu until a couple of days later. Luckily my bike arrived safe and sound. A few tense moments as I was deciding to replace ALL my cycling gear assuming that my panniers were permanently lost and I would need to set out on the trip soon. I was compensated with a nice new green dress courtesy of the airlines.
