The following day we headed northward towards the old town of St Goar.

On the way we had a lovely pork roll dinner with veggies - my second best meal yet!!

Then on arriving at St Goar we saw the worlds largest working Cuckoo Clock which is hand carved by woof from the Black Forest and is in the Guinness book of records at 3.5m in height!

I wanted to buy one but they were very expensive. So tempting as they were soooo cute but my bag is heavy enough at this stage and I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to lug it all around and then finally get it home with me! So I settled on Babushkas!!! Scott you will love this one, it is kick ass!!!

Everyone else bought beer steins including ones with a piece of the Berlin wall on top of it. I decided that I didn’t need a stein and wouldn’t use it so I gave it a miss…

We also went on a cruise up the River Rhine which was nice and relaxing, past the famous Lorelei Rock. Legend says that she used to lure ships with her beauty until they smashed into the rocks. One day she was feeling sad and looked down into the river, saw her own reflection and was lured in by her own beauty and drowned.

The River Rhine is one of the largest river systems and runs fro more than 1000km. It is still used today to transport coal and other things.

Everywhere you go around here people are cycling, they have dedicated bike tracks throughout most of Europe.

You notice that all throughout Europe people are allowed to take their dogs everywhere including inside of pubs and restaurants and shops which is a little bit wrong if you ask me!!!

We went wine tasting, they were pretty nice but I didn’t see the point in buying them to cart around.

Back at our hotel we had the best dinner of the trip - veggies!! And pork and nice soup. Had a few more wines outside.

great blog!
Hi, I've been having fun looking at all of your adventures...they all look interesting and, well, adventurous. I especially like hearing about all the places you've been that I would like to go to, for example, Amsterdam, Egypt, Las Vegas. I hope the rest of your trip is equally fabulous, and that you're not too exhausted when you get back and have to go to work.... Kim (David's friend)
