¡Hola!

So today was my second day of classes at La Universidad de Nebrija. I can walk to school in about 20 minutes so I am very lucky. It takes some of the people in my group 1 hour to get to school by metro!

On Mondays and Wednesday, I have theater at 11:40 til 1:00. Talk about a boring class! It was okay for the first 40 minutes or so, but she just rambled on about what was theater....una experiencia....la lituratura viva.... you would think that theater would be interactive and fun, well, think again. It was kind of hard to concentrate for so long because she is speaking in Spanish (obviously, haha) and I really have to concentrate to understand what she is saying. We are going to read some plays in that class so hopefully it will get better.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have Arte y Civilizacion de Espana which is basically a history class of Spain. The class is from 11:40 til 1. The profesora is so great! She´s really funny and the whole time we were laughing. I´ve only had the class one day and already I´ve learned so much!

Monday thru Thursday I have a Spanish language class from 1:10 til 2:30, so right after my other class. The profesora seems a little hard, but I think I will learn a lot. I am in clase C1, which means highest level but lowest class. For the international students, they have levels A, B, and C. A is beginners, B is intermediate, and C is advanced. Then, in each of these levels they have class 1, 2, 3, and 4. So, for example, B4 would be the highest class of intermediate spanish. The other people in my group range from B3 to C2, so I´m right in the middle. I think I was placed into the perfect class because I knew what was going on the whole time but definitely will be challenged! Friday I have the class from 8:30 A.M. (yikes!!) til 9:50 then I´m done for the day so really, its a great schedule!

So tonight a group of us are meeting at the train station to buy our tickets to go to Tarifa. We don´t have class on Friday because it´s a fiesta in Madrid (yah!) so we are going to take a trip down to the coast of Spain. Tarifa is about a 30 min boat ride from Morrocco across the Strait of Gilbraltar. We will definitely have to be careful, but the group from last year went and said it was fine! So maybe my next entry can be from Africa!!

Hasta luego familia y amigos!!

AFRICA!!!! AHHHH!
As your dad, you'd better be careful there! Remember safety first, fun second (actually school work second, fun third) Question: in your prior note, you said the metros stopped running after 1:30am. So how were you out till 3:30am Saturday night??? Glad you're having a great time! We miss you Love, DAD(dy)
