A few days ago I went to explore Yoyogi, not sure of what was there. I ended up finding a nice park with a large temple. The exit to the park led to Harajuku, which is a teenager oriented area of tokyo, with lots of trendy clothing stores, and many people. I didn't stay there very long. It's a little bizarre to walk about 50 feet from a serene forest and end up in a crowded shopping district.

Street in Yoyogi

Just a normal street in Yoyogi. I thought it was a nice contrast to the crowded concrete blocks of other areas.

There are a bunch of these gates all around the park area.

This path through the forest was very nice. The cicadas were out in full force.

This is before the entrance to the Meiji Shrine. I think you're supposed to pour the water on your hands.

This area was off-limits. I think it's the inner sanctum.

A pond thingy I found while wandering around Harajuku. I think that's a restaurant in the background.

That little building on the left leads to the trains. The forest to the left is where the Meiji Shrine resides.

Every Sunday there are groups of people near Harajuku Station, dressed-up in various costumes. It was a bit strange.
