As this is the family blog I thought it was time that I, Nataghia, wrote a bit about our second week in July.
Our first week in Saskatoon was great and certainly allowed us to get in the holiday mode. I especially enjoyed attending the Broadway show Mamma Mia on Thursday night with Ron, Marie and Diane. If anyone enjoys ABBA music I would encourage you to see it if you ever get the chance!
Saturday, July 7th we packed up the van again, with a bit less stuff this time, and hit the road. On this journey we went northwest to Leoville to visit my Grandma Henri. We chose a good time to go as we also saw my Aunt Mariette, Uncle Rick and my cousins Crystal and Stephanie who were in town for a wedding. And my Aunt Lorraine was there too, whom we hadn't seen in about 6 years. After an overnight visit with Grandma and lots of yummy food of course, we hit the bumpy road and headed for Victoire.
We arrived in town and went straight to Morin Lake Regional Park, where my Aunt Rita and Uncle Gaetan have a cabin. My cousin
Some of those cousins
Les, Matthew, Alexis, Lucas, Nolan, Jo, Addison Dori graciously offered for us to pitch our tent in the front yard and hang out with her family for the week. Thanks to Dori and Lyle for their great hospitality! And thanks to Auntie Rita and Uncle Gaetan for the use of our "very own fridge:, ha, ha.
The minute we got there the fun began as the boys were whisked off in the boat for tubing with the cousins. It was great to see Uncle Gaetan and Auntie Rita and Auntie Annette before they all left for Saskatoon. Thanks for the fun in the "Indian Sauna"!! It was also fun to visit with Les and Joanne and get to know little Mathew and sweet baby Addison!
The weather tested us on Monday and part of Tuesday, but the rest of the week it was FANTASTIC. Sunny and hot, perfect swimming lesson weather. Benjamin and Owen both took lessons along with all of the other cousins there. Lots of fun was had swimming and getting to know Zachary, Chloe, Alexis, Matthew, Addison, Josee, Cody, Sophie, Lucas and Nolan better. Yes, we told Owen, these are all his cousins, as they are the children of my cousins.
As all of my Dad's 6 siblings live or cabin around the lake, we had a lot of visiting to do. We did supper and a boat ride with Auntie Loraine and Uncle Marcel, coffee and fresh bread at Auntie Yvette and Uncle Gilles, breakfast at Auntie Lillian and Uncle Alden's and Erin's too, and more coffee at Auntie Denise and Uncle Leo's. Thanks to everyone, it was so great to see you all. Now it is your turn to visit us in Costa Rica.
I think we managed to see everyone for a bit and it was great to catch up on all of the news. We enjoyed watching the boys with their cousins, it's nice to have built in friends with whom we can swim, water gun fight, scavenger hunt, play games , and dig in the sand.
After 5 action packed days of fun in the sun, and some good relaxing time for Ron and a good book, we packed up the tent on Friday morning. After swimming lessons were finished, and Owen passed his level 3, yippee, we dragged him out of the water and said our good byes. Pulling out of Victoire we
did stop of course for a generous serving of ice cream at the L'il Country Grill. You can't go to the lake without visiting there.
On the road again, we cruised up to Prince Albert, loaded up on groceries and then went north to La Ronge and the cabin at Missinnipe.
