We're now sitting in the departure lounge at LAX waiting for our plane. We've got about 3 hours. I just love these long waits at airports.
All of us are a bit shot after an adrenalin-packed 5 days here. And today after a 2 hour wait in the que, we finally found Nemo. It was the one big ride we couldn't get on on our first day at Disneyland because the que was enormous and you can't use a fastpass to get onto it. Fot the other popular ones you can get a fastpass which gives you a set hour when you can go on that ride without having to line up with everyone else. So if you plan things you can get around most of it, which we did. We had 2 days (today being the second one) at Disneyland and one at Disney California Adventure, a day at Universal Studios, and a day at the ball game - Dodgers v Florida Marlins.
Highlights? I'm not sure. Probably watching Seth skipping when we went into Disneyland the first time. All of it was good. Disneyland and California Adventure were fantastic, so was Universal Studios, and the baseball
was my thing. I really enjoyed that. Susan did too, a lot more than watching cricket. We can learn a lot from American sport about how to run games and get the crowd into it. It entertainment.
Right now I'm about done with Theme Parks for a while and Susan and I are definitely roller coastered out. One of the ones at California Adventure called California Screaming was so good we went 4 times. The ride Susan and I liked most was probably a glider simulater thing called Soaring over California where you literally felt you were flying, just about. The studio tour at Universal was good and there was one really good roller coaster there too.
The boys just had a great time and we did too. Its been pretty hot but I haven't complained once, knowing what we're going back to. In fact Susan has just turned up back here in different clothes with a lot less skin on show, bugger. I'll have to do the same shortly I guess.
So we've had a great holiday. Its been fun having all this time together as a family with all the usual family goings on, and
it gives me serious motivation for the next trip. It hasn't been one of those holidays where we've just put our feet up - we've packed a lot in but hopefully the boys will remember what they've seen and done down the line. They've been keeping diaries which make interesting reading.
So now we're looking forward to a bit of skiing this weekend and its back to work and school also. Thats not so bad. One thing I've decided is that we're pretty lucky with what we've got at home. We've seen some of the best places I'd never seen before and they were great, but NZ stacks up pretty well for a wee place. Thanks for keeping in touch and we'll see you shortly.

Great Holiday
Sounds as though you have all had a great holiday, its almost like being there reading Russells interesting commentary on your adventures up and down the West Coast of the U.S. Like others who have done a similar trip it brings back some great memories for me also. No picture of Russell at Venice (Muscle) Beach has been a major disappointment for the girls in the office at work !! Welcome home guys !! Rads
