Packing

Every trip starts before you actually leave. The three "p"'s of preparation, planning and packing are not as glamorous or eye-opening as the travels themselves, but they are equally important, if not more so, for the success of the trip! So, I am starting this blog from the beginning -- before I've actually left -- as I pack up to go. It is surprising both how much and how little one needs for a semester abroad. I am packing a remarkably small amount of clothing and school supplies for the trip (at least compared to what I normally take with me). At the same time, there are so many little things like travel documents and toilettries and books that are so easy to forget! I hope that I don't forget anything! Even if I do, I guess thats at least part of the adventure.

Good luck on your travels Ravyn. I am from the US, but I've been in Germany since July '05. It is absolutely gorgeous. I don't know how long you will be here, but I've been told that the winters are long and very cold here. Noting your aptitude for preparedness, don't forget the long-johns!
