So i arrived here 2 mornings ago.....after only 2hrs sleep and a 4am wake up. Horrible. But i managed to get out and about and explored the city for the day, falling in love with it instantly. The weather has been simply perfect, shorts and singlets and constant sunshine. This is seriously one of my favourite, if not my most favourite city in the world, it's just gorgeous. I haven't had access to a computer where i can download photos yet, but stay tuned!! My first night here was ace, i ran into an aussie guy Gav from a previous hostel and went and watched him play guitar (and sing) at a local open mic night, with a german girl i was sharing a room with. we ended up meeting some locals, and some super cool ecuadorians and therefore proceeded to drink with them for the rest of the night. awesome fun and now i have contacts for partying when i arrive in ecuador!!
yesterday was kind of chilled, went down to haight and ashbury streets, cool shopping/bar/restaurant district, much like camden in london. then last night was out for dinner in little italy with some irish girls who are
the craic, Ali and Siobhan, and a new english friend Liz. This was followed by a night cap at a local bar, where we managed to find ourselves in the downstairs VIP lounge, an interesting place to be, full of hot chicks in short shorts, and drooling males...we got out of there pretty quick after some serious laughs.
today was Alcatraz......pretty cool, not unlike pentridge but much more isolated. today is the 4th of july which means huge parties everywhere, with the Americans celebrating their independence. the city is going nuts, so it will be another big night tonight, with fireworks and partying down pier 39, a great spot to be!!! anyways, tomorrow i'm off to new york for five nights. can't wait. loving life right now!!!! the shopping is amazing here...cheap and the food has improved thank heavens!

Hey Mel, Well your off in the big bad world again. The itch is starting to attack my feet as well. I would have to say San Fran is one of my favourites as well. This is the first blog I've read so off to read the rest. Love Micka
