All the way to Ft. Qu’Appelle!

Although it was still pretty cool this morning, it was nowhere as bad as yesterday, so I took Blue & cycled from our hotel to Fort Qu’Appelle. Bob & Panna would come along later to meet me & bring me back.

Fortunately the winds were favourable, for the most part, and with a bit of encouragement from Bob, who told me at 50-km that it was only another 13+ km to Fort Qu’Appelle & that the route would finish with a LONG descent, I decided to go all the way. (And I told myself I’d “earn” a hot fudge sundae at the local Dairy Queen.)

Aside from that it was a fairly uneventful ride - I do like going on the highways here, especially when the winds are quiet.

DAY 8: 67.0 km, in 4:10 hours, ave. speed 16.1 km/hr, max. speed 36.3 km/hr
