Hi guys,
So we have been good little tourists and have a few more pics for you.
On sunday we went to the national museum. The buildings were beautiful, converted from an old royal palace and grounds. Then we went on to Wat Phra Kaeo and the Grand Palace. This was amazing, seeing the glistening gold and sparkling jewel, encrusted, spires; such an enormous site!! The Grand Palace dates back to 1785 and is now only used for official ceremonies. The temple is the holiest buddist site in Thailand and houses the emerald buddah.
On tuesday we went on a trip to the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak, then on to the bridge over the river kwai and site of japanese WW2 POW's camp and finally to the Nakhom Pathom (the tallest Buddist monument in the world).
Then on Wednesday, we went by tuk tuk (what an experience!!!) to see the reclining Buddah at Wat Po and then across the river by ferry to see Wat Arun.
We are staying in Bangkok before moving up north to Chaing Mai for a couple of days. Its still very hot with a 10 minute monsoon everyday but
this cools us down!
Hope everyone is well and we'll report back again next week.
Love Kate and Luke
We have loads of pics to show you when we get home but these are just a few!
