Hey, wasn't this guy in Jurasic Park?
Ginny in the Sydney wildlife walk through. End of week two - prepping for the next step
We are nearing the end of our tour of New Zealand and Australia. It has been a fantastic two weeks. We have seen many things we had hoped to see and have been surprised by many more things that we did not expect to see or did not know about. The Sourthern Cross remains big on the list along with New Zealand's Fijordland National Park - a must for everyone to see.
We are working on this map of our trip - it needs work, this is the first draft and it is not completely accurate geographically, but close. We will refine this as we go forward.

It was partly cloudy, but we had a great day in Sydney. We went to the Wildlife Park and the Aquarium (very crowded) then took a water taxi from Darling Harbor to Circular Quay under the Syndey Bridge and on to the the Opera House. We walked the open air markets and shops that led
Big Lizards!
Would not want to run into one of these guys in the Outback! to the new Underground Pathway to the Opera House. Could not have been more perfect for us on this imperfect weather day. Wettest June in Sydney for 40 years! We were actually lucky to see and experience what we did. Tomorrow it is off to China, we will donate our winter Southern Hemisphere clothing to good causes in Sydney.
We had an !AWESOME! dinner on the Sydney Harbor tonight. Shared a !HUGE! lobster and Greek Salad plus a dessert to die for. Took a taxi back to our hotel where Ginny reorganized her packing and John headed for the British Pub in the Grace Hotel where he met a couple who just moved into Sydney but who knew who/what AMGEN was about. Great conversation and as a result have added them to our blog!
As we go forward, meeting locals, we know that the world is getting smaller information-wise and that there is a growing desire for a "world voice" that overcomes local geography. MOST interesting. Happens every where we go. Politics aside, people just want to get it right for all.
Tomorrow, off to Beijing China via Singapore. BIG travel day, but we are ready, able,
and willing to go forward!
