As the sign says
The most easterly point of Australia So we finally left Brisbane and we were heading for Surfer’s Paradise, but I have to say since Noosa the weather has been getting progressively worse (I know its Australian winter, but I don’t want it to get cold). We arrived in Surfers Paradise, it was very wet, windy and cold and I can only describe the place as a European holiday resort. It was very built up, huge hotels and very commercialised, not what we expected at all. We parked on the side of the road for about 10 minutes, checked out the beach, and then both decided that we didn’t really like the place. When we’ve arrived in different places we usually get a feel for the place, it just didn’t happen here. I’m guessing the bad weather didn’t help. I’m sure in the height of summer we’d have stayed a day or two. So anyway we drove about another 5km south down the Gold Coast to a little place called Miami, where it has to be said, we did very little. It rained for 2 days, so watched Sex And The City, on the laptop in the van, caught up with friends on the internet (we managed to
Bored in Miami
So in the shopping centre I decided to try on some crazy furry boots So in the shopping centre I decided to try on some crazy furry boots

So we left Miami on Thursday 7th June and for that matter Queensland and landed in our next destination, Bryon Bay, New South Wales.
Now I really liked this quirky little town, a bit hippy, but also very cool. Once again shame about the weather, but maybe when I return to Australia one day this will be on my list of places to visit along with Noosa and I will enjoy it so much more in the sunshine, but hey it was still pretty cool. The town was full of spiritualists and tarot readers etc, so we decided to have our cards read. Now I’ve never done anything like this before and if I’m totally honest, not really sure I believe in it either, but we decided it would be fun, so off we went. I have to say a lot of it seemed like a load of rubbish

Following Card Reading and she seemed to tell me & Nicole the same things, but here goes this
Following Card Reading
is what she said…..
Nicole’s in brief was that she is to be a businesswoman as that is what she had done in previous lives, she is a strong spirit that has been around for many lifetimes and is therefore very powerful, but she is being held back by not believing in herself she has “blinkers”on……
Mine again said I was a powerful spirit that has been around for many lifetimes and this is why Nicole and I have been drawn together as friends. I have a very powerful mind, but I am afraid to use it, as I worry too much about what other people think. Again she kept saying I had my “blinkers” on and that I need to open my eyes to myself and my intelligence (As she turned over a card with Einstein on it, ha ha). She said I have a very creative mind, but something from my past is holding me back. That I am a person of great integrity, but I am not living the life I should be??? That I must

Following Card Reading not overindulge in drink, drugs and sex (ha ha, great advice). That I must trust my inner self and not always think the advice from my friends and family is what is right for me. And finally I am such a powerful being, because of my past lives, that anything I want in life, I just have to reach out and grab and it’s mine (so I’m just going to go grab that winning lottery ticket).
So needless to say we both came out laughing and headed to the nearest bar to overindulge in alcohol. Then back to the van for dinner and Goon and a night on the town with Jesse, Diana, Mark & Mark. We headed to one of the few bars in Byron Bay, Cheeky Monkey’s, pretty crazy, it has special metal topped tables for you to dance on….Well it would be rude not to dance on the tables if that’s what they’re there for, ha ha! So that’s what I did for most of the night, Nicole on the other hand managed to pick up some strange guy (ok he was with Mark & Mark, but he was a bit odd, check out the picture)

Following the card readings and then just seemed to get more drunk as the night went on, until eventually the bouncer decided she was too drunk and asked her to leave, how embarrassingly funny. So that was our night over, although it was around 2.30am, so off to the van we went after eating a meat and potato pie…..what? Pies are huge over here; it’s just like having a curry back home!
The next day we decided to have a walk on the beach (too cold to sunbathe) then head up to the lighthouse. Whilst on the beach, this guy started chatting to us, telling us that if we keep watching the sea we should see whales as it’s migration season. As we chatted it turned out he was born in Liverpool (my birth city too, for anyone that doesn’t know), he has lived in Australia for 42 years, but his sister still lives in Liverpool and as it turns out about 2 streets from my Mum and Dad, it’s a small world. Whilst I was chatting away Nic swears she saw a whale……..
So after that bizarre encounter we drove up to the lighthouse. The views of Byron were spectacular. If

Following the card readings only it had have been warmer I could’ve stayed there all day. So we wandered about for an hour, took our pictures, daydreamed, then jumped back in the van and headed to our next destination Nimbin. Anyone that has been to Nimbin will know what my next blog will be all about. Ha Ha Ha!!!
