Aww Long Weekend. Well Friday night , we decided to go out for Kalbey, basically you bbq pork right at your table and put it on lettuce with bean sauce. It is so GOOD! I also had some rice wine - it was pretty good. We found this cool, soju bar and ordered Mango and Yogurt Soju. It was really tasty, lots of shots. We then ventured out to Karoake. Amazing little places with small rooms and 4 t.v.s and 2 microphones. They have so many songs! You even get a score at the end! Mine wasn't great (ha ha) Well, you guys know that. We sang our heart outs till 3:30 am. My throat was sore the next day.
The next day we ventured to Costco. Much like home! Guess what I found - SPAM! They love it here. I bought some Tilex, I am happy to clean the bathroom. It was quite a process. Then, I went to Vania's who is leaving for New Zealand at the end of the month Boo Hoo, and she gave me some of her clothes that didn't fit her anymore- So it was like I went shopping! Then Laura ( my roomate ) and I went to Platinum to meet a friend of hers from B.C. This awesome place that has different types of beer and all you can eat for $20 between 6-8:30pm. The food was so good, salad, sushi, mussels, curry, shrimp-YUM! , Then Laura and I ventured to Itaewon to meet Kim and Vania, oh and this Korean guy we met last weekend. So we went to the Loft and there I met Kim (another one!) from Newfoundland and her boyfriend Phillip and Chris from Colorado who is serving in the military. We went to "The Bungaloo" This little upscale bar that has sand on the floor and many margaritas. Yum, Lime, my favourite. Then we went up 'Hooker Hill' as it's known. There are many dance bars, country bars even! We danced the night away !
On Sunday morning , we got up and went for breakfast at "ROCKY MOUNTAIN TAVERN" a Canadian bar. We had bacon and eggs and toast! Then we walked to the Hamilton Hotel pool. It was sunny today! We sunbathed and hung out for 5 hours in the sun. It was crowded there, but we found a spot. After a relaxing day ,we headed out for Mexican food. A really good restaurant , I had quesadillas and Kim had fahitas and of course strawberry Margaritas.
After dinner, we went to Hanna market to get food for our big dinner tomorrow. We are having a bunch of people over for an Italian dinner , yeah I know " you ask, Who is cooking"? Not me, Kim loves to cook. So I will hopefully have pics from that!bye for now -LOVING LIFE in Seoul!
