Today we were together for the WHOLE day! It is a holiday weekend in Germany and today we decided to hit up a few museums in Kassel. First off we got a little lost in the rain and stopped to ask for directions at this delicious chocolate/cafe/breakfast place..which we would later return to. We went to the Orangerie and went into a Marble Bath Room which was very grand, but can never be and never was used as a functional bath...which was a little kommisch (weird)... There were all sorts of gorgeous marble statues and reliefs (sculptures) which depicted ancient greek myths. They were really interessting to look at.
After that museum we headed back to the cafe and had a slice of cheese cake and some hot drinks. We bought some nifty little chocolates which looked really good. After that Sarah had to use the washroom...over here we have to pay which really sucks cos we feel like we could be spending that money on shopping for example....or chocolates...as another example....getting my drift?
We headed off to the Natural History museum in Kassel where they have a live spider display...little gross but we will survive as they were all big and disgusting but all in glass cases. The history museum had lots of animals and bones on display, brought the kids within us out...reminding us of trips to such museums when we were younger and not so tall....
I (Jo) am currently chilling out at Sarah's house in Vellmar...it's a reallly nice house by the way...listening to the radio and just chilling out. For those of you who don't know Sarah and I are the same height...therefore we are natural dancing buddies for trips out to the bar/disko here...good times had by all!
The other night before we went to Berlin Jo and Andrea went to a local Bar in Kassel for some drinks and dinner as they were meeting a tandem partner there (a student who is German but studies English Language). Anyway, long story short, we got really friendly with the bar owners and had a pretty good evening. We're now fairly sure that we can go back and nab a few free beers every now and again...this was symbolised by the stack of beer mats they gave me for Sarah as she is collecting them for Jon...that's right...she's stealing for you Jon...what have you made her do... just kidding...Sarah's a good girl...most of the time. 😊
Then we went to Berlin which Sarah has already filled you in on, so i won't go on any longer. 27 days left and then you can have our shiney happy faces back in good old Canada.
Miss and love everyone!
Jo and Sarah

Kassel, the museum city
Don´t miss out the Sepulkralkulturmuseum, the Stadtmuseum (They have nice models of the city; showing Kassel before and after the war) and the Galerie Alte Meister at Schloss Wilhelmshöhe. And in case you should still be here; go see the documenta!
