So, funny story. Yesterday at 8:30am I woke up for no reason. I couldnt go back to sleep. I got up and turned on the TV. Someone was doing a special about hotdogs and brats. It made me want one. So, at 9am, i decided i would go to the store and buy some brats so i could cook some up for lunch. i was in my PJs and flip flops. It was very cold out. I bought the things I needed (brats, onions, etc) got in my car, turned the key and....

it didnt start.

so, i took my groceries and walked home. I was, at that moment, very happy that i decided to just go to family fare and not meijer. anyways, i walked home in the 40 degree weather in my flipflops, cursing my car the whole time.

I sat at home, by myself all day (because while I am stranded and having car problems, Laura is galivanting around Spain. Grrrr) My dad came up later that night, and we tried (unsuccessfully) to get it started. It needs to be towed. So, I decided to wait until the morning to have it towed because it was late and I needed to get ready for my pinning ceremony (aka my nursing graduation).

Ok, fine. whatever. Not the first time my car broke down on me, and everyone knows it wont be the last. haha. Anyways, after pinning I went out to celebrate with friends, and my sister spent the night so i could use her car this morning to go to the spanish department breakfast for graduates. really, it worked out well. after breakfast, i decided that while i was out and about i would pick up my cap and gown, since i am car-less. Great idea.

It would have been, except for the fact that I parked my sisters car, got my gown, and came back out, and (drum roll please....)

its not working.

o, it starts alright. but it doesnt go into reverse at all. so, day 2, car 2 and I am STILL stranded. I cant get out of the parking space, i need to be pushed or something. She did mention that her car had been acting funny lately, but she just ignored it. Thanks Laura. Cool. Cause now I am the one stranded.

So, anyways. funny story? Not really. Really, its frustrating, makes me mad, and is wasting my time. But one has to laugh at the timing of it all. Because really, we all know its funny if its not happening to us. So, go ahead, laugh it up. Enjoy yourselves. At my expense. I will think of you all (who should be helping me! but convienently, no one is picking up their phone....) as I sit on the curb, waiting for Justin. He's my lifesaver.

thanks for the laugh
Oh Jen, I have to be honest - I'm laughing. Your story is quite hilarious - mostly b/c I'm not the one suffering from car problems this time. I feel your pain. Thanks for sharing this on your blog. What a story. Hope you can work it all out soon! Just think - you won't have to deal with your car for several weeks!!

Your luck amazes me!
Dearest Jen! I am laughing it up over here in Barcelona as I finally read your entry about your car troubles. At least you are used to car trouble and know how to take it in stride, if it had been me I´d have cried (you know I would have too!), in addition to panicking about not having a car before leaving for 4 weeks! Oh well hopefully it all worked out and I got a really good laugh about it . . . especially that you went out at 9am to get stuff for brats . . . only you!
