Aka hello. Not related to China, I got a 4.0! ha ha wait to brag on myself over the internet to friends and family. Either way. I'm stoked. Again, this will be quick because i'm paying for internet time.

wow. this is amazing. we went to a jade factory, the great wall, a hutong in the city, and rode in those cheesy rickshaw things. i've taken about.. two hundred pictures, no joke, and can't wait to share them when i get home.

the great wall... insane. we went to a location far away so there were not very many other people there, and it was breathtaking. the amount of work that would go into something like that, in the countryside, is hard to fathom. there were many funny little instances on the wall, such as a rural family taking pictures with us (the 3 girls i've been roaming with rachel, ellen, and amanda) (professor allen said we might be the first white people ever, go us); and two europeans thinking we were drunk because we kept tripping. the vendors leading up the great wall were INSANE and literally chased people, held onto people's arms. wow. i had fun haggling & getting things. one guy got shafted & paid 20 bucks for a shirt everyone else got for super cheap. it's tough haggling in a different currency, yuen.

the hutong was interesting, but scripted so not very authentic. the rickshaw bike things we rode in were a HOOT, our driver was insane & swerved, hit another bike, hit another woman, and basically tried to freak us out which was entertaining. wow. what an experience.

we leave again already for tianjin, to do some actual academic stuff. i don't know how my internet access will go from here on out, so.. don't hold your breath. i'm keeping a little diary (thanks to my wise brother andy) of hilarious details so i can share in full when i return.

OH meals are getting crazier and crazier, tonite i could identify the meat, although it was because all body parts were still intact on the chicken and the fish. ew. good news, the rice here is GREAT. thank god for that. i've tried a lot of things, i know this is hard to believe, but.. there's only so much i can do.

i love all of you & hope you're enjoying reading my brief blogs. i wish i could take the time to be witty and go on about how much i'm experiencing, but.. i'm paying for it and i'm cheap. we all know this. shee shee (thank you) for reading thus far 😊
