Things to look forward too...
Hi Everyone!! Sharon and I set up this blog so we can communicate with everyone "real time" - we wanted a way to record our experiences before we move on to the next ones (or in my case before I forget). And it also let’s us hear from each of you while we’re traveling - so please let us know how things are at home.

Snapshot:
Rob and Sharon, Kevin, I and Tina are traveling to Cambodia to work with the Tabitha Organization (http://www.tabithafoundationaustralia.com) at a small housing village in Kampot, South Cambodia. The Tabitha group is helping us by providing a cultural, societal and historical perspective of Cambodians before we head out to Kampot for two days of building. According to our team coordinator - our group is building 15 homes that will house 120 people. Our group includes 28 people (including us) somehow connected to MS Australia. Sharon and Rob are our connect - thanks to them both for sharing this experience with us.

Of course, we're also expanding our time to learn, experience and live a great adventure. Which means exploring Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Then off to Vietnam - flying into Hanoi spending a last evening with Rob and Sharon. At that point Sharon and Rob will explore Halong Bay while we head to Hoi An just south of China Beach.

Are we ready?
So the check lists are coming to an end - Sharon and I have discussed luggage, first aid kits, and our expectations. We’ve all read lots of traveler blogs, books and watched pbs specials and the movie "The Killing Fields" and at moments excited and at other moments anticipating what this trip will mean to each of us - emotionally, physically and spiritually. We are so grateful for this opportunity and our family and friends in your support. At this moment, I'm pretty calm, yesterday I was anxious (ok, a little terrified) - so this blog will chronicle this fantastic roller coaster ride.

BTW, if anyone wants advice on packing - I may be setting up shop. Of course, we'll see how well I did - 2 days in...

The entries will probably be short, but we’ll be excited to share everything….until the next post - take care.

Kathy
