Sorry for the lack of updates, its not that I've been partying non stop and haven't had the chance to get online, its just that I've not had much to report.

I'm still searching for a room to share. I managed to have a look at one unit yesterday, nice place but a bit expensive and a little too far out of town (actually in Salford but only 20 mins walk from the city). The owner is an ex lawyer (am I ever going to escape the law???) now clerking for a local Barrister. There are still a few promising places I'm hoping to be able to check out soon so X fingers for a breakthrough soon.

Been walking around the city looking ay shops and sussing out any job vacancies, not a huge amount going on and most seem to want full time staff which would so cramp my travel plans. Whilst I was at it I couldn't resist a few purchases - Manchester has some great shops ranging from cheap-as to OMG expensive. Urban Outfitters, Top Man, TK Max, H&M all have some decent stuff. Bought myself a few tops and some new shoes (Ryan - there are heaps of cool shoe shops over here, its like one of those trainers catalogues of yours come to life! You'd love it).

Oh and of course the whole shopping trip was only so that I could suss pout

The news over here is all about Blair's never ending step down from power and the missing little girl Maddy. Is it too jaded of me to suspect that the parents might have been involved?

Weather continues to be crap, there was some lovely warm sunshine yesterday morning and in the afternoon but it rained for the rest of the day. The sun is setting nice and late, I think it was around 8 that it got dark last night (its like day light savings without the buses breaking down all the time and the curtains fading).

The goings on at the hostel have been a bit strange of late. First night I shared with an older guy on a walking trek from south England to the North, some 300 miles odd I think he said, and a young guy here to sit an exam (there are several decent sized unis in the city centre). The next night was just me which was nice. The next couple of nights saw two bus loads of footy kids from Ireland here for a match and to tour the area. The kids (and their parents) were damn loud and pretty annoying so it was a relief when they left yesterday. The last couple of nights I've been stuck with a middle aged guy from Yorkshire, now I don't know if its a Yorkshire thing (the accent is a bit strong) but the guy is a bit mental ... Strange people stay at 'youth' hostels, its not much of a youth place these days, more older and family but its not that bad and I will cope until I find my own place.

The plan today is to continue the room search and look at maybe signing up with a few temp agencies.

Got quite a few gigs coming up over the next week (how surprising!) so I have been keeping a low profile in anticipation for the gigs, really looking forward to them (I'm sure to bore you with stories in the coming days).

Anyhow, hope everyone is well.
