We slept a little bit in and was then headed out around 10 to view Athens and do our own walking tour to the Acropolis and what not.

Breakfast was good as it was a pastries and coffee. yummy. We then got on the Metro and got off near the national gardens in which we cut across them to get towards the older olympic stadium. When we cut across we were lucky enough to land in front of the parliament building and watched the changing of the guard. Much like the one in London, the standing guards switch out every hour. They have a funky outfit with big furry balls on the toes of their shoes. Was cool to watch. Then we got to the old olympic stadium which was cool, then walked to the temple of Zeus which was just amazing how tall the pillars were and its architecture. Then next was Hadrian's arch which was used to signify the beginning of the old city portion and the new part. We then slowly made our way to the Acropolis where the Parthenon stood. Along the way to getting there were ruins throughout the city. It's neat to see that it's just intergrated throughout city centers. Heading up the acropolis were cool theaters and and various ruines. The Parthenon itself was amazing. The view as well, as you can see what seems to be all of Greece. Was definately crazy, and really that's when it hit me hard that i was in Greece. Yeah, you would think the other ruins would calculate that but seeing the Parthenon was simply amazing. We then headed down past more ruins, got lunch in the flea market, saw more ruins (bath houses, the agora's.). Around 8 or so we headed back to the apt. to take a nap and get ready to hit up the bars.

The bars were happening pretty late as we stopped by a museum around 11 p.m. first and then were at the bars around 12 which were pretty packed and we stayed till about 3 before making our way home, and needless to say we found the place pretty quickly this time...
