Edit Blog Post

Hello everyone!! sorry its been a while but we have been so busy over the last couple of weeks so its been hard to get to a computer. I have to appologise in advance that these blogs will be brief as the internet is expensive here!! AND i've just spent the last half an hour typing all about Brisbane then the computer bloody crashed and im having to type all this again!!!!! ARGH!!

Anyway...as you all probably know we stayed with relative Peter and Louise in their lush big house just outside of Brisbane... you probably haven't heard all the way in England but around the Bribane area there is a really serious drought at the moment and people are encouraged to have 4 minute showers and recycle as much water as possible as the dams are at less than 20%!
We fell in love with Brisbane straight away it has a much nicer feel to it than the other big cities we have been to and it was so easy to get a train right into town. Ant also loved the millions of Soccer piches and tennis courts around!

We had some brillant nights out in Brisbane..we were really lucky to have Louise's son (another Anthony the same age as us) to take us out and show us all the best places. plus he had a Nintendo Wii which we played on loads before we went out and resulted in fits of laughter most of the time!! he also introduced us to loads of his Aussie mates and we had a propa Oz BBQ on Anzac Day (Austrailian and New Zealand Army Corp) then we all had a massive game of football...which Anthony was chuffed about!

We bumped into our friend Ollie who we met in Sydney and had a class night out with him aswell. I also enjoyed meeting Louise's Mam Brenda...my grandma's cousin... she has been living in Australia for about 30 years and still has a broad Geordie accent! It was Brilliant!

We had some lovely days out in Brisbane and getting the train in we would walk around the millions of shopping malls then walked across the river the the museum and University side where the Griffiths Uni is (Rob kept that one quiet). as we got the River Cat Boat back home we saw the Brisbane Hanson Factory!! (Bet you'd rather be managing this one Mum n Tom??) lol.

Peter and Louise were more than kind to us and took us on day trips on the weekend to Surfers Paridise, Noosa, Mount Tambourine (where we had a very rainy BBQ), and the gorgeous beach town Mooloolaba... which otherwise we wouldn't have visited!

After Brisbane we head further north on the bus to Rainbow Beach.....

City
So glad you liked Brisbane, it really is a beautiful city and a lot of travellers don't bother to go there, perhaps they should? Sydney gets all the fame but maybe it's not deserved. Enjoy the beauty and quiet of northern Queensland- Cairns will be your next busy stop! take care, Love Steph PS winter in Coffs- 27 degrees today!
