Me and John on an elephant
Arrive in Chaing Mai at about 8am. After taking my doxycyclin I feel really rough, but decide the chance to go elephant riding and bamboo rafting isn't one I can miss. Although the 1 hour journey isn't pleasant the effects soon wear off.

After the elephant ride we go bamboo rafting, which resulted in getting very wet! One of the guides realised what my name was and started chanting "No Wet No Fun" and getting everyone (And especially me and Jessica) really soaked. On the way down some local children boarded Jessica and Edel's raft and tried to capsize it.

Our included activity today was to head up to a temple at one of the highest points in Chaing Mai. This temple was quite a drive away, and the road leading up to it was built with 99 bends as this is a lucky number in Thai culture. While we were in the temple we were allowed in during evening prayer to observer and sit with the monks.

After returning back to Chang Mai we went out and watched Muay Thai (Thai Kick boxing). The fights were organised into groups, starting with children before moving onto adults.

Then they had comedy fights, including a 4 way blindfold fight to raise money for charity.
