Hi All!

I think we have just hit our peak of gastronomic adventures! When we first arrived in Warsaw and met up with my cousin Anja, we asked her where the best place was to eat polish food - she said at Zofia's!

We would like to share with you the feast that i had at my cousin Zofia's house. Unbelievable! And we thought we were fat before!

Here is a run-down:

1pm: First course consisted of: a mushroom dish, a pineapple/corn/ham/egg dish, a plate of ham and salami, bread, a fish dish with tomato salsa and peaches, a crazy meat/jelly/vegetable thing and vodka.

2pm: 2nd Course: Insane chocolate cake, fruit and home-made fudge (we have been assured that all polish chocolate tastes crap, and that Zofia's is the one to eat! and it never melts in the heat - she said we could take it to Australia!) and vodka.

We were then informed that this was a light lunch, and that dinner would follow at about 4!

4pm: 3rd course: Noodle and Egg soup and vodka.

4.15pm: 4th Course: Chicken fillets (Zac had 4), Mushrooms, Traditional Polish Cabbage Dish, Delicious potatoes

Our new found friend Tom, who is doing the same sorta thing as us, just backwards! He has also offered us floor space in Shanghai. Yay for Tom!
with dill and parsley. and vodka.

4.30pm: 5th Course: Fruit Compote and vodka.

5pm: 6th Course (2nd Dessert): Apple cake, Jellies and more chocolate! We weren't allowed to leave the table until we had eaten ALL of her homemade chocolate! and vodka.

We also left her house with a bottle of Zubrowka. A traditional polish vodka that has a piece of grass in it! We are drinking it as we type! Na zdrowie! (Cheers!)

Apart from her amazing cuisine, Zofia has an amazing love of her relatives in Australia, considering she has only met my mum and uncle (as far as i know). She has photos of us all, and can tell you who is in every photo! Myself and all my cousins from babies to now. She also has 2 folders; one with all the letters that my grandfather ever wrote to her, starting in 1962, and the other with all the letters from my mum, and even a couple from me! There was one that i don't remember writing, but i was 7. Very cute.

Zac is now an official member of the Pacholski Family. But he only did it by eating like

Mildly more tasty than "Chocobeer" which was consumed half an hour later.
a Courtney. Go figure?!?!?!?! Anyways, he has Zofia's tick of approval (Plus she thought he was cuter than Tristan).

Tomorrow we go to Zofia's again. For a "light" dinner. Apparently this one was only big because it was our 'welcome' dinner. But do we believe her...?

By far the most beautiful park that we've been too ever! Park Lazienkowski in Warsaw. It was obviously peacock mating season. We watched them at it in an Amphitheatre. Yes, an amphitheatre. Which Chopin has played at.

The 'w' in Michaw should really be an l with a slash through it. Pronounced like a 'w'. He is Anja's son.

You guys should be professional ....
You guys should be professional restaurant reviewers and write for some hardcore restaurant or foodie magazine. Every progressive blog entry that you written has an even better description of the amazing food you have tried. May your travels bring you more gastronomical delights. Meanwhile, I have to make do with cheese and crackers at work! Good to see your more serious Poland entry and good to hear you've caught up with family, Sof. Looking forward to the next entry! xxB
