Smallest known horse
The zebra in the background is a bit smaller than a normal horse, so you can see how tiny the other one is! Just sitting on the computer in our current hostel and Monarch of the Glen is on TV! weird.
Wednesday was ANZAC day, which is a memorial day for Australian and New Zealand soldiers who died in the World Wars. There was a big parade of veterans through the city centre and the streets were rammed with people waving flags. It was a nice day but we were a bit at a loss for things to do as its a national holiday & most places were closed.
I decided to head back up to Kings Park (for a change!) and Rob went in to town to watch 300. My day turned into another mammoth walk around the city, did a treetop walk in the park, walked all along Swan River and then back in to town into an area called Northbridge. Was worth it though, on my travels I discovered a place renting out kayaks on the river, so hope to do that before we leave. Other than that the only eventful thing of the day was nearly getting trampled by a horse, these guys came out of a beer garden on horseback dressed in 19th century soldiers outfits
Gorgosaurus
This made me laugh because it looks scary but has really small arms! and one of them got the flag he was carrying caught over his face.
This morning I was woken up by what i think was a piledriver at the super early time of 11am. Rob was still asleep so I decided to sneak out and treat my inner geek to a trip to the museum. I wasn't expecting much as it looked quite small but it was actually really good. There were loads of weird australian animals (some still alive, mainly treefrogs), dinosaur skellingtons, meteorites and a collection of random stuff. Took loads of photos, I've put up some of the more interesting ones. Spending the rest of the day trying to find a cheap place for car rental, hoping to drive out to the Pinnacles out in the deserty bit & hopefully see some kangaroos.
In other news, the travel plans have now changed. Spending a month going round the south coast, starting in Adelaide and ending in Sydney. Then it's a month in New Zealand, 2 weeks in Fiji & 1 week in Hawaii. Then we'll have 1 week in LA before Rob heads off home and I'll have two more weeks in America. It's quite

Can't remember what this was called, but apparently it was a metre long and crushed things in its pincers a big change but i'm happy with it, still get to do everything i want.

Good looking Blog
Hi Gav, the blog is fair taking shape and you seem to be getting the hang of the trip. Mooching and seeing what comes. Walking around a city with no time restraints is often the best way to find the things that are most interesting to you, all the things that aren't in the travel brochures. Sounds like the kayaking should be fun. We're looking forward to the next report. Rob, Liz, Bethand and Fiona
