Am I the only one who gets a chuckle from this?
Hi,
Well, yesterday was interesting. I decided I wanted to see smaller areas than London. Bath looked great with Roman built hot springs. The train wasn't convinent and was going to be about £85 so I decided to rent a car. Well, driving on the left side, especially with a manual, was harder than I thought. Cars ar parked in the roadway making it singe lane at times. I was also traveling along a small road and the for about 20 feet the lane just ends. Mind you this is at 40MPH the other lane is still there and a sign says yeild to on coming traffic. Now there is a lorry coming but he looks long off. I pull into the single lane. I realize the lorry is going much faster than I thought or than he should be. It is tight!! One 10 foot lane and I am zipping head on to this big truck. My lane start again just up ahead. So I pull on to the curb and off the road for a few feet. Now this rental car was brand new, just delivered with 6 miles on it. Well, it is missing a hubcap now and

OK this one got me too, what can I say.
probably needs and alignment. Great excitment! I was a bit shaken and decided not to drive the 80miles to bath so I am spending the day in Dorking a few miles from where I rented the car. Not a bad town though and I am having a good time and getting better at driving.

Off to Dublin in a few hours now.

Cheers

I had a similar experience, but I was driving a Ford Explorer (HUGE in England). I was a menace. They really shouldn't let us drive over there.
