Bus to Koh Samui

Well I’m sat on the bus writing this (obviously typed onto blog since). This has got to be the longest bus journey ever. It’s currently 12.45am and the bus set off around 7.30pm and I don’t think we are even half way yet! Got on the bus and thought I’ll just chill and listen to some music, but no ipod is flat, it must’ve been switched on in my bag, as I only charged this morning…That will teach me to lock it in future. Then thought ok I’ll read my book, but no the light above me doesn’t work. Thank god for my maglite, although there is only so long you can read like that without getting a headache.

Then there is the guy sat next to me. Only a small guy, but seems to think he can have half my seat & leg room.

We just stopped for a leg stretch and some food. Food good, but then all Thai food is. Just a slight problem with the toilets….Mum you’d have died. First you pay for toilet roll, only 5baht, but then you only got 3 sheets….no number twos in there!!! The toilet was disgusting and there was no flush, just a pan and a sink at the side that you had to use to flush…hilarious!!!

Well it’s 6am and I’ve arrived at Surat Thani and been told that I now have to get another bus at 7.30 for the boat at 8am. I think I’ve only travelled 250miles…I’ll never complain about our public transport system again, even when our buses and trains are late they don’t take that long to travel that distance…Ah well all part of the adventure I guess and next 5 days is Chilling on the beach, so should be nicely recuperated before my next journey to Krabi, which is only about 4hours, I hope….

lucky there was a pan and water! that could be classed as a luxury. You obviously haven't experienced the squat over a hole with running water through it yet - nice!! just don't slip or we might not see you again! xx
